About me
Fueled by a love for technology and a strong belief in lifelong learning, I have invested my time and efforts into the exploration of educational media and technology. While studying at James Madison University for my undergraduate degree, I took coursework in educational media, educational technology, instructional design, and photography. For my undergraduate senior research project, I created an Augmented Reality Sandbox and researched the benefits of augmented reality in the classroom. I am currently enrolled in the Educational Technology M.Ed. program at James Madison University, where I am studying the impact that augmented reality, specifically mixed reality glasses, can have on learning. I am also a part of the Classroom Technology Services department at James Madison University, in which we are responsible for introducing new technologies into the classrooms that will assist with the JMU’s academic mission. Outside of work and my graduate studies, I am a freelance photographer that specializes in sports photography. I have won three Virginia Press Association awards for my work in 2018, 2019, and 2021, a Society of Professional Journalists First Place Mark of Excellence 2021 and a 2021 National Finalist for the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence in the sports photography category. I continue to freelance for a variety of different organizations.
