How I can help you

  • Schedule an appointment with me for 1-1 help! I can help you with finding, evaluating, and citing information and data.
  • Email me to schedule classroom instruction, discuss new Libraries resources, and more. I can partner with you to provide classroom instruction on research skills and tools and information and data literacy. I can also help purchase materials like books, ebooks, and journals that support your research.
  • Check out my subject and course research help guides. These guides provide useful research and technology tips for your major or class.

My education, research, and service

  • M.L.I.S, The University of South Carolina, 2019
  • M.A., English Literature, James Madison University, 2017
  • B.A., double-major, Technical Writing & Spanish, Virginia Tech, 2012

My research interests are broad and interdisciplinary. They include reflective, joyful, mindful, and inclusive pedagogy; critical librarianship; STEM education; library outreach; student success and wellbeing; climate change and climate justice; sustainability; the Anthropocene; science communication; and Afrofuturist literature, among other topics!

I enjoy collaborating with many colleagues across JMU and across librarianship. I am also a volunteer therapy dog owner, and one of the co-facilitators of JMU’s faculty and staff club for fiber arts, UNWIND.
