About me
As Associate Dean for Academic Engagement, I help plan and strategize library services related to teaching, learning, and research using information in our local collections, resources from around the world, and in our spaces. Learning how to find, evaluate, and use information is key to developing information literate students and faculty. Preserving information for people to use is an important aspect of this work. I work with experts across four teams — Digital Scholarship & Distinctive Collections, Library & Information Services, Music Library, Research & Education Services — to achieve this work. About Academic Engagement
Academic Engagement is a new, public-facing division of the Libraries, under formation now. Departments include Library and Information Services, the Music Library, Research & Education Services, and Digital Scholarship and Distinctive Collections, which includes Digital Projects and Special Collections.
About Libraries Administration
We support and challenge JMU Libraries’ staff and faculty to live up to our guiding statements — as we work together to provide excellent library and educational technology resources, spaces, services, and expertise to our campus community. Libraries’ Administration includes Communications and Outreach, Data Analytics, Facilities Operations, Finance and Human Resources, and the office of the Dean.
About Dean's Office
The office of the Dean of Libraries includes associate deans for the four major divisions of the JMU Libraries (AE, DATech, LID, and Admin) as well as an executive assistant and senior professional faculty leading strategic initiatives.
About AE Leadership
We are the leadership team for Academic Engagement (AE).
About Research & Education Services
We further JMU’s teaching, learning, and scholarship mission through our work as educators, researchers, and collections managers. Research & Education Services is the home of the Liaison Librarians.
About Music Library
We are the Music Library: JMU Libraries’ home for music. Drop by, call, or email to schedule an appointment to get expert assistance in research, make suggestions, ask questions, or just say “hello.”

About Library and Information Services
We connect JMU’s diverse communities with the Libraries’ resources through a holistic approach to front-line services. We staff the main service desks in Rose Library and Libraries Express, as well as coordinate the Ask the Library service. We provide support for checking out materials, help people find library items and electronic resources in our collections, and work closely with other Libraries’ departments to seamlessly connect people with the resources and expertise they need.
