New and Discontinued Database Subscriptions for 2025

JMU Libraries is committed to providing quality scholarly resources that meet your curricular and research needs. We strive to develop and maintain balanced collections that support the subjects taught at JMU.  

How do we decide what to purchase? When deciding which subscription-based databases to provide as part of our collections, we consider usage patterns, relevance to the curriculum, uniqueness of the content, cost increases, accessibility, and more, in accordance with our collection management policy

What subscriptions will be added and removed? After a careful assessment in 2024, JMU Libraries decided to acquire 18 new databases and discontinue subscriptions to the following 5 databases:  

These changes allow us to redirect funds towards resources that better align with the evolving teaching, learning, and research needs at JMU.
