Join the Libraries Student Advisory Board
Posted September 20, 2021 in JMU Libraries News
Do you like sharing your ideas and opinions? Of course you do! And we want to hear them!
Each year, the Libraries pulls together a small group of students to help guide our decisions and give us feedback on various Libraries goings-on from the perspective of our most important library users – you! If you want to help shape the future of JMU Libraries, meet other students, and make a difference at JMU, apply to join our Student Advisory Board (SAB)!
Joining the SAB is not a big time commitment, with only two to three meetings per semester. For the 2021-2022 academic year, there’s a good chance meetings will be virtual (great for your schedule!), but if we do decide to have in-person meetings, don’t worry – there will be plenty of snacks.
What does the Student Advisory Board do?
If you join the SAB, we will ask your perspective on many different Libraries and campus-wide issues. In the past, the Libraries SAB weighed in on issues like the Group Study Room booking system, Libraries emergency communications methods, Campus Crawl, and even our Escape Room Passport event! You have the chance to make a difference on your campus, and you can see it happen in real time (plus, it’s a great résumé booster!).
