Posted July 18, 2024 in Featured News, JMU Libraries News, Open Education News
Next semester, try open textbooks! They offer a more affordable alternative for students without compromising on quality. With open textbooks, you have the flexibility to save, share, and revise the material to align with course learning outcomes and equity and inclusion goals.
These online textbook collections offer students immediate, first-day-of-class access to their learning materials:
- Open Textbook Library: books and reviews by other educators
- Open Stax: peer-reviewed open textbooks, plus supplemental materials like slide decks and other teaching resources
- Pressbooks Directory: open textbooks published by faculty at mostly US higher education institutions
