Faculty Deadline to Mark Your Course as No/Low Cost

This is a friendly reminder that if your course materials total $40 or less at the JMU Bookstore, you need to alert the relevant staff in your department when you submit your other course information so they can add this info to Course Scheduler for you. 

Why enter this information? Taking this step will allow students to find your class when they filter for classes with “No/Low Cost Course Materials” in MyMadison. This helps students who are struggling with the cost of textbooks to find more affordable courses and helps JMU to comply with Virginia legislation (section F) specifying that no/low-cost courses be clearly marked.

Deadline: You have until March 1 to edit details for the Fall enrollment period and then you will have another brief window during March 21-27. The Textbook Adoption deadline for Fall isn’t until April 15, so you will need to consider your textbook choices a few weeks early to include this information in Course Scheduler.
