Data Ethics

Alyssa Young, Science and Math Librarian, has created a new book display, Data Ethics. View the display online or in Carrier Library.
Alyssa explains, “We are surrounded by technologies that use our data daily, from social media to our JACard. We might know how some data collected about our activity is used, but we might not always know how all of it is used. Data can be used for good but can impact people and society both directly or indirectly. When we think about data ethics, it relates to good practice around how data is collected, used and shared. This book display shares books and media that center data ethics. Topics include surveillance tech, artificial intelligence and how we continue to be human in the age of technology.”
