“Virtual Browse” Shows Physical and Digital Books Side by Side
Posted April 12, 2023 in General Collections News, JMU Libraries News
If you like browsing books on a physical shelf because you can see titles on a similar topic grouped together, we’d like to draw your attention to a tool embedded in our JMU Library Catalog that might be easy to miss. At the bottom of each book’s page in our catalog is a “Virtual Browse” tool (pictured below), which provides an online browsing experience not just for our physical books and some other materials, but also for our extensive online collection!
This interactive display shows items that are related by subject (based on call number) from our collection. You can even request the items for pickup from the library location of your choice or for delivery to your departmental mailbox (faculty/staff and doctoral students only).
